Steam Shower - FAQ

  • What is required to connect a steam shower:  Hot and cold water supply, a common floor drain and electrical power

  • What water connections are required:  3/8 inch male compression threads are required you will be supplied with 2 stainless braided hoses.

  • What about safety:  All Aston steam showers are Intertek ETL listed and conform to UL499 the plumbing components are also listed by IAPMO the units are marked with the ETL and UPC label.

  • What are the electrical requirements:  The unit requires a 30 amp 120V GFCI protected circuit

  • What size is the heater: 3kW

  • Can you operate the unit with out power:  Yes, only the showerhead and shower wand will work not other functions will work

  • Can I connect a MP3 player:  Yes, the unit has RCA input plugs for this purpose you will need to supply the connection cable

  • Can I operate all of the body jets at one time:  Unfortunately, no based on ½ inch supply and pressure limitations you can only operate a limited number of body jets at one time 3 to 6 jets at a time

  • Can I operate the shower head and body jets at the same time:  No the diverter valve will only allow you to operate one function at a time.

  • What is the unit made from:  The walls floor and ceiling are made from Acrylic with fiberglass backing, tempered glass is used for the doors and windows.

  • How long before steam is produced:  After starting the steam function it takes about 3-5 minutes for steam to start coming out of the vent.

  • How do you clean the steam unit:  You can flush the steam unit by holding down the steam button until water begins to flow from the steam drain.  The steam unit will also drain after 4 hours after being used.
  • What maintenance is required:  Other than basic cleaning no other maintenance.

  • How do you clean the unit:  For the glass use any commercially available glass cleaning fluid, for the acrylic use non abrasive cleaner never use a cleaner such as Cometâ„¢ or AJAXâ„¢ on the acrylic surface.

  • How do you clean the jets:  The body jet faces are removable so the can be cleaned, the shower head is also removable so that it can be cleaned and soaked if necessary.
  • How is the product shipped:  The unit comes in several large boxes and on a single pallet
